Take a look at bamboobar

bamboobar’s unique feature is the bamboo dispenser which is plastic free and refillable and quite a handsome modern addition to the bathroom.

To refill the dispenser, you pop the deodorant in to the bottom of the dispenser and push the bamboo dispenser base back on. There’s even some videos on the FAQ section of the bamboobar website to help with your bamboobar, if you need it.

How to use bamboobar

The deodorant itself is in a cardboard tube and this means that if you want to, you can use the deodorant without the bamboo holder, as I did.  Like many of the other deodorants, you can just carefully push the product up from the inside the base of the tube, although this can leave the cardboard tube a little greasy.

Be careful not to push up too much as you can’t push the deodorant back down and it will catch on the top of the cardboard tube.

I found this a little firmer than some of the other deodorants but still soft to use and like the other stick deodorants, it’s probably a good idea to let the product warm up a little on your skin, so move slooowly when applying.

How effective is bamboobar?

This was super effective and one application would last me more than a day (at a push!)

What is the bamboobar fragrance?

The scent is described as ‘citrus’ but it's a little too strong for me and the lovely lemon scent is overpowered by rosemary and lavender. If you can tolerate this scent, then this is a great deodorant and I found it to be very effective and it is sodium bicarbonate free.

Subscription service and charity support

bamboobar offer a subscription service (so you need never run out) and with every purchase of a bamboobar product, 10% of the profit is donated to one of their affiliated charities and bamboobar also plant 10 hardwood trees in Nepal with every purchase of a bamboobar starter pack.

Here’s the ingredients:

Coconut oil, candelilla wax, arrowroot powder, kaolin clay, shea butter, hemp oil, and essential oils (rosemary, orange, lavender, sweet almond oil, lemon)

Would I recommend bamboobar?

Definitely yes – it’s very effective, easy to use (with or without the bamboo case), the company has strong charitable and eco credentials and it’s natural, vegan, cruelty-free, SLS-free and aluminium-free.

It really is a great product - looks good, works well and has good eco credentials - what more could you ask for !
